ABOUT THE BRAND
Talk, Play, & Read is the work of Jo Ann Gramlich, a Speech-Language Pathologist and award-winning children's author. It helps parents, educators, and therapists turn everyday moments into language-building ones, through a simple method and a growing series of children's books.
Jo Ann had the expertise, the method, the books, and the speaking profile. What she didn't have was a brand and website that matched any of it. She came to us with a site that had grown chaotic over the years, and a vision much bigger than what it was showing. So we rebuilt the whole thing, the brand, the website, and the illustrated world of her Ruby & Louie book series.

THE PROBLEM
Jo Ann's old website had become overwhelming. Years of work had piled up into a sprawl of pages, blog posts, and videos with no clear path through any of it. It was slow, hard to navigate, and the colours were so bright they were exhausting to look at. The messaging didn't speak to the parents and educators she was actually trying to reach.
None of it reflected how good her work is. A first-time visitor landed in the chaos, felt overwhelmed, and left without understanding what Talk, Play, & Read could do for them.
THE BRAND AND WEBSITE
We started with strategy. Before any design, we got clear on who Jo Ann is really speaking to and how to say it in a way that lands with tired parents and busy educators.
Then we rebuilt everything. A warmer, calmer brand with a colour world that feels friendly instead of loud. A completely restructured Squarespace site, faster, simpler, and built around clear paths: the Method, the Books, Ruby & Louie, Speaking, and a Learning Hub that finally organises her content instead of burying people in it. We handled the copy, the SEO, the accessibility, and all the technical work behind it.
THE BOOKS
We also illustrated her Ruby & Louie children's book series by hand. Jo Ann had first tried building the characters with AI, and it never quite worked, the characters wouldn't stay consistent and the warmth wasn't there. So we did it properly, together. We built Ruby and Louie as real, consistent characters with their own colour world, designed for print and made to carry the brand into the books themselves.
THE RESULT
Talk, Play, & Read went from overwhelming to clear. The site is calmer, faster, and easy to move through. The brand feels warm and trustworthy, and the message finally speaks to the people Jo Ann is here to help.
Everything now lives in one place and looks like one considered business. It's built to grow with her, ready for the books still to come and whatever she creates next.
